Empower the Disabled

Disability as a social problem has evolved into a product of the modern welfare state, and we are trying to change that.

Our Mission Statement

Our passion and purpose is to transform the lives of the disabled, the elderly and veterans by providing them with current, real world skills and placing them in jobs that provide them with a living wage.

“We wish to employ the tools and services that empower others to bring their talents to life.”

Facts facing those with disabilities in our country:

  • Ten years after the onset of a chronic or severe disability, disabled respondents reported a 79% drop in earnings and a 22% drop in food consumption.
  • Only 21.3% of Americans age 16 and over with disabilities were working or actively looking for work….this is far below the 67.1% rate for Americans without disabilities.
  • According to the US Census Bureau projections, in 2030, people 65 years and older will outnumber children. With a growing elderly population, this means that disabilities will probably increase in the United States.
  • Stereotyping – People with disabilities may be presumed to be helpless, unable to care for themselves, or unable to make their own decisions. Our goal is to change that.
  • More than 40 percent of America’s homeless population are people with disabilities and the number appears to be rising.
